Dorothy M. Young

Dorothy M. Young, 86, died Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at Harbor Haven Health and Rehabilitation in Fond du Lac. She was born March 24, 1928 to Gladyce Irene Waters and Clifford Arthur Merwin at Glenwood City, WI. She resided at St. Clare Terrace in Fond du Lac.



She moved with family to Fond du Lac in 1933 and graduated with honors from Goodrich Senior High School in 1945 and worked briefly for the RAY-O-VAC company in Fond du Lac until moving to Denver, CO in July 1945 where she worked for the Mountain Bell Telephone Company. Transferred to the New Jersey Bell Telephone Co. in 1946 and returned to Fond du Lac to work for Wisconsin Bell in 1947 where she became a supervisor and retained that position until marriage in 1948 to Harold Langacker. In 1973, she married Gordon Young and assisted him in his business in California until retiring in 1990 when they traveled extensively. In addition, her faith was always an important part of her life.



Survivors include her four children; Ronald (Barbara) Langacker, Michael (Debra) Langacker, Lawrence (Lu Ann) Langacker and Sharon Adams, twelve grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is further survived by one sister, Virginia Lipps. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers; Edwin, Richard and Cecil “Cy”, two sisters; Vi and Charlotte, one grandson, David Langacker and both husbands.



A visitation for Dorothy will be held Monday, December 15, 2014 from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM

at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave. in Fond du Lac. The memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM with the Rev. Thomas Behnke officiating. Cremation has taken place.



In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Salvation Army would be much appreciated.



The family would like to thank the 6th floor staff of St. Agnes Hospital, the staff of Harbor Haven Health and Rehabilitation Center and lastly the entire community of the St. Francis Home for their loving care of Dorothy.
