Dorothy H. Meyer, 92, of Oakfield, died on Monday, April 15, 2024, at Prairie Ridge Assisted Living, Mayville. She was born on January 6, 1932, in Dotyville, WI, the daughter of Marvin and Mabel (Meinke) Immel. On November 1, 1952, she married Robert Meyer at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac. She was a member of St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oakfield, the St. Luke’s Ladies Aid, Camp Byron, the Farm Bureau, the Homemakers Card Club, and a 4-H leader. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking and her flower garden.
She is survived by five children, Mary (Dave) Simon, Donna Meyer, Dale (Deb) Meyer, Ron Meyer, and Brian “Skip” (Denise) Meyer; eleven grandchildren, Justin (Leah) Simon, Paul (Kelsey) Simon, Stephanie (special friend, Josh) Garb, Andy (special friend, Angie) Parris, Katie (Roger) Ziegler, Karen Meyer, Kris Meyer, Cassie (Andy) Puddy, Ali (Cody) Birschbach, Aaron (Karah) Meyer, and Corey (Madison) Meyer; 17 great grandchildren; a great great granddaughter; four step great grandchildren; seven siblings, Beverly (Don) Backhaus, Evelyn (Ken) Koepke, LeRoy Immel, Stanley (Susan) Immel, Richard (Theresa) Immel, Betty (Gerald) Gitter, and RoseMary Carey ; seven brothers and sisters-in-law, Ruth Immel, Marie Heider, Jerry (Mary) Meyer, David (Pat) Meyer, Roger (Margarita) Meyer, Dennis (Linda) Meyer, and Alan (Mary) Meyer; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; father and mother-in-law, Arthur and Hildegard (Backaus) Meyer; two sisters, Judy (Carl) Kollsmanberger and Jeanette Immel; three brothers, Marvin Immel, Jerold (Roberta) Immel and LaVerne Immel; three brothers-in-law, Richard Carey, Earl Meyer, and Earl Heider; two sisters-in-law, Lorraine (Gerald) Marquardt and Patsy Immel; three great grandchildren, Colton Meyer, Lacey Ziegler, and Willow Birschbach; and grandson-in-law, Justin Garb.
The visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, from 10:00 AM- 1:00 PM at St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 245 South 2nd Street, Oakfield. The funeral service will follow the visitation at church at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Avoca Cemetery, Oakfield.
