Dorothy R. King

Dorothy R. King, 87, of Fond du Lac, WI died peacefully on March 10, 2015, at Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac. Dorothy was born on June 16, 1927, in Iron Mountain, MI, daughter of the late Frank and Ruth (Peterson) Fregetto. She was a 1945 graduate of Kingsford High School. She worked at Ft. McCoy processing discharged veterans and later returned to Montgomery Ward’s in Iron Mountain. On February 4, 1950, she married Edward J. King in Milwaukee, WI. She assisted her husband, Ed, in the establishment and running of their business, King Brothers, Inc. in Fond du Lac, WI.



Dorothy was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed cooking, card playing, and above all, people.



She is survived by two sons, Scott King of Fond du Lac and Brian (Robyn) King of Fond du Lac; three grandchildren, Devin, Ethan and Marlena; very special friends, Wendy Izzo, Jordan Schroeder, and Dakota Schroeder and many special nieces, nephews and cousins. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Ed King, her parents, her brothers Douglas (Violet) Fregetto, and Bobby Fregetto.



The family would like to thank the Agnesian Cancer Center for the wonderful gift of time and the Hospice Home of Hope for caring for the entire family.



Dorothy touched many souls during her 87 years. She taught us how to love, laugh, and breathe in everything life has to offer. She lived each day deliberately, always moving forward with love, compassion and gratitude. And now we will do the same.



In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Agnesian Hospice Home of Hope or Agnesian Cancer Center.



Visitation for Dorothy will be held Sunday, March 15, 2015 from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave. in Fond du Lac. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 3:00 PM. Committal service and burial will occur Monday, March 16, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Iron Mountain Cemetery Park in Iron Mountain, MI.
