Douglas E. Masteller, age 77, of Fond du lac, gained his wings Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born on September 17, 1945, in Fond du Lac, the son of Roland and Adella (Jurgensmier) Masteller. Douglas served in the United States Navy from 1965 through 1968. On October 5, 1968, he married Diane LaPine and had five children together. He was a member of Church of Peace, Fond du Lac, where he also was a Sunday school teacher. Douglas had a bachelor’s degree and worked for Moraine Park Technical College as a computer programmer analyst. In his spare time, he like to crochet, bowl, throw darts, play solitaire on his computer, and loved animals. His greatest love was for his family and loved taking them to Karl Ray Lanes for bowling lesson and Sunday school when they were young, including his first grandchildren.
He is survived by five children, Pamela Masteller, Troy (Renate) Masteller, Joe (Shawna) Masteller, Robin (Terry) Ottaway, and Amanda (Andy) Masteller ; ten grandchildren, Courtney (Cody), Dennis, Sierra, Austyn, Adalynn, Ashlyn, Autumn, Kayla, Evelyn, and Phebe; three great grandchildren, Elijah, Cali, Gwynnevere; brother, Robert (Rachel) Masteller; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Adella; three little angel children; grandchild, Poppyseed; brother, Gene; nephew, Kevin and his life partner Bear.
To honor Douglas, the family has invited everyone to sport a touch of purple. It was his favorite color.
The visitation will be held on Saturday, February, 18, 2023, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. The memorial service will follow the visitation at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Military Honors will follow the service. Cremation has taken place.
