Douglas M. NicholsonDouglas M. Nicholson, 64, of 371 Liberty Street, died Thursday, October 19, 2006, at his residence. He was born April 19, 1942, in the Town of Clayton, Crawford County, the son of William E. and Jennie Mae Bartow Nicholson. On September 10, 1994, he married Mary Jean Abbey Hendrix in Fond du Lac. Mr. Nicholson was a veteran of the US Army. For many years, he was involved in the building and trades industry. He previously was a welding instructor at Moraine Park Technical College in Beaver Dam, and had owned his own siding business. Prior to his retirement, he drove bus for Johnson School Bus Services. Doug was a member of Eagles Aerie #270, and enjoyed the outdoors, especially when he was fishing.Surviving is his wife, Mary Jean, three daughters, Michelle Otis of Chickashaw OK, Rebecca Jerimiason of IL, and Michelle (Adam) Rushing of Fond du Lac, three sons, John (Karen) Nicholson of Evansville, WI, Cole (Rene') Nicholson of Monticello, WI, and Michael (Elizabeth) Nicholson of Fond du Lac, 10 grandchildren, 11 step-grandchildren, and one great-grandson, and four step-sons, Daniel (Denise) Hendrix of Fond du Lac, Russell (Lori) Hendrix of Oshkosh, and Shawn (Theresa) and Shane Hendrix, both of Fond du Lac. He is further survived by four sisters, Elsie (George) Perrett of Pardeeville, WI, Lee (Robert) Kviz of Blue River, WI, Nola Peterson of Arena, WI, and Chris (Junior) Glass of Dodgeville, WI, and four brothers, William Orvis(Clara)Nicholson of FL, Bob (Mary) Nicholson of Indonesia, Richard Nicholson of Janesville, and Thomas (Barb) Nicholson of Fennimore, WI. He is also survived by two brothers-in-law, Robert (June) Abbey of AZ, and Edward (Tammy) Abbey of Fond du Lac. His parents preceded him in death.



Visitation for Mr. Douglas M. Nicholson will be on Sunday, October 22, 2006, from 4 to 8 pm at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 am on Monday, October 23, 2006 at the funeral home. The Rev. Virginia Pych will officiate and cremation will follow.
