E. Alice Wirtz

E. Alice Wirtz, 103, died Thursday, January 4, 2018 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac. She was born in St. Cloud on June 16, 1914 to Joseph and Susan (Pickart) Wagner.

On May 15, 1941, Alice married Philip Wirtz at St. Mary’s Church in Fond du Lac. He preceded her in death on June 21, 1972.



Alice worked at Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, retiring after 18 years. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church, the St. Mary’s Altar and Rosary Society, the St. Francis Home Auxiliary, the All About Life Nursing Home Auxiliary and the Good Samaritans.



Survivors include her 2 sons, Richard and Michael (Christine), both of Sarasota, Fla.; a grandson; 3 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Eugene Wagner of Cedarburg. Preceding her in death were her parents; a grandson; 4 brothers, Clifford, Lester, Dave and Tom; and 3 sisters, Adeline Suter, Helen Furlong and Marie Meyer.



Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM on Friday, January 12, 2018 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave. in Fond du Lac. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM with Deacon Ricardo Munoz officiating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery will follow the services.
