Earl H. Lowe, 86, of 496 S. Military Road, died Saturday, April 09, 2005, at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born November 1, 1918, in Oshkosh, a son of Harry and Lilly Marsh Lowe. On February 28, 1947, he married Viola M. Hintz in Fond du Lac. She preceded him in death on July 6, 1997.Mr. Lowe was employed by the Wisconsin Power and Light Company as an electrician for 29 years, retiring in 1982. Earl was a member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local #965. He was a veteran of WW II, serving with the US Army's 21st Chemical Company in the European Theatre. He was an avid bowler and a former director and Vice President of the Fond du Lac City Bowling Association. On November 21, 1971, he rolled the first 300 game at Karl Ray Lanes. He also played in several moderate softball leagues. As an accomplished wood worker, he designed and constructed numerous projects for his familySurviving are seven daughters, Roberta "Bobbi" (Fiancé John Waldschmidt) Thomma, Rhea Wendels, Renee Suwyn, and Rhonda (Jack) Eyers all of Fond du Lac, Rhoda (Gary) Willett of Manchester, WI, RoxAnn "Roxie" (Merlin) Breslow of Mayville, and Robyn (Brian) Willett of Oakfield, two sons, Ronald "Ronnie" (Chris) Lowe of North Fond du Lac, and Rory (Kathy) Lowe of Fond du Lac, 35 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a son-in-law, Thomas Fink, a great-granddaughter, two sisters, Ethel Ristau-Sterba, and Ruth Malott, and a brother, William Lowe.
Visitation for Mr. Earl H. Lowe will be on Tuesday, April 12, 2005, from 4 to 7:30 pm at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2005, at 7:30 pm at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Martin Koehler officiating. Entombment will be in the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park Cemetery. A memorial has been established in Mr. Lowe's name.
