Edward Giedd

March 4, 1921 — November 8, 2004

EDWARD GIEDDEdward Giedd, loving father and grandfather, age 83, of 49 Reid Terrace, Apt 8, Fond du Lac, died Monday, November 8, 2004 at Grancare Nursing Center after a short illness. He was born on March 4, 1921 in Tripp, South Dakota, the son of Emanuel and Lydia Meyers Giedd. He came to Wisconsin in 1950. On May 29, 1952 he married Angela Anderson in West Bend. She preceded him in death on December 10, 1996. One of Ed's proudest accomplishments was serving in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Reconstructing airplanes after the bombing of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. He also served on numerous islands in the South Pacific as an airplane mechanic. After the war he moved to Wisconsin where he worked at The Door Company in West Bend until 1962. He then moved to Fond du Lac where he and his wife owned and operated The Bottle Shop from 1963 until 1973. They then moved to Reno, NV in 1986 and lived there for five years, enjoying camping, sightseeing, and gambling. He and his wife then returned to Wisconsin and lived in New Berlin for two years, and then back to Fond du Lac. Ed enjoyed attending dances, and videotaping them, gambling, and other events.



SURVIVORS: one daughter, Lynn Giedd of Fond du Lac, one grandson, Cordero Giedd of Fond du Lac, one sister, Maggie Bedenbaugh of West Bend, one brother in law, Raymond Schloemer of West Bend, Loving Companion, Edna Sina of Fond du Lac, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Angela in 1996, four brothers, John, Walter, Ray, and Vern, one sister, Clara Schloemer.Cremation will take place with inurnment of the cremains taking place in the spring at Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, King, WI.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is serving the family.
