Edward L. "Fritz" Brandt

October 10, 1943 — July 11, 2010

Edward L. "Fritz" Brandt, 66, of Fond du Lac, died Sunday, July 11, 2010 at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born October 10, 1943 in Fond du Lac, the son of Belva (Emmer) Brandt and Edward L. Brandt. Fritz was a 1964 graduate of Delavan School for the Deaf, Delavan, WI. He was a member of the football team and on October 7, 2006 he was honored into the Football Hall of Fame in Delavan. On October 8, 1978 he married Janet M. Knutson at Church of Peace, Fond du Lac. Fritz had been employed at Mid States Aluminum in the 1970's and helped his wife manage the Butler Apartments for 23 years. He enjoyed watching game shows, the Green Bay Packers, Nascar, playing bingo, Uno and communicating with his deaf friends on the TV VRS Communicator. The ability to communicate with his deaf friends via the TV opened his world tremendously. SURVIVORS: Fritz leaves behind his wife, Janet; his dog, Hershey; two sons, Christen Mark Brandt(special friend, Debbie Kemkes), Appleton, WI, and Davis Edward (Jean) Tosh, Fond du Lac; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Pat (Peter) Wagner, Arizona; one brother, James (Carol) Brandt, Texas; a former daughter-in-law, Cheryl Brandt, Kimberly, WI; two aunts, Delores Emmer, Fond du Lac and Elsie Neath, Madison, WI. He is further survived by two sisters-in-law, Merinda Knutson and Judi (Dave) Faubel; one brother-in-law, Mike (Athanasia) Knutson; nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his mother; step-father, Herbie Moss; one son, Thomas Brandt in 1991; his father and mother-in-law, Ernie and Shirley Knutson; one brother-in-law, David Knutson; a granddaughter; his dog, Daisy.



VISITATION: will be from 4 "“8 PM on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and again on Thursday, from 10 "“ 11 AM at the funeral home. The funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, July 15, 2010 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home with Rev. Liandro Arellano officiating. Burial will follow at Ledgeview Memorial Park Cemetery.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Additional information and guest book may be found at www.ueckerwitt.com.
