Edward P. Crabb

Edward P. Crabb, 93, of Fond du Lac, died Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Kindred Hearts in Fond du Lac. He was born on December 11, 1918 in Wood County, WI, the son of Phillip and Antonette (Kersten) Crabb. Edward married Lorraine D. Kiersten on September 11, 1948. Edward was drafted into the U.S. Army in July 1942 and served during World War II. Stationed in Tewkspury England, he worked as a mechanic, fixing the brakes of heavy equipment. He served three and a half years before returning and marrying his bride.Edward and Lorraine owned and operated Lakeside Service Station in Fond du Lac. He later worked as a machinist for the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad Co. for thirty-three years. He also worked from his home garage, repairing cars and equipment for friends and neighbors. Edward and Lorraine are lifetime members of the Catholic War Veterans and are also lifetime members of Presentation Church in North Fond du Lac. Edward enjoyed playing his concertina, card parties with his wife and friends, working in his garden, watching the Lawrence Welk Show and Packers games, and playing Rummikub with his children and grandchildren.SURVIVORS: his wife, Lorraine, nine children, Gerald Crabb of Elkhart, IN, Elaine (Gary) Colton of Fond du Lac, Sharon (Norman) Priepke of Eldorado, Rhonda (Steve) Giebel of Kaukauna, Theodore (Harmony) Crabb of Abilene, TX, Anthony Crabb of Merrill, Donald (Julie) Crabb of Ormond Beach, FL, Lori (Scott) Jage of Oshkosh, and Colleen (Douglas) Waterworth of Fall River, eighteen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren, one brother, Joseph Crabb of Wisconsin Rapids, dear friend Jean Seibel of Fond du Lac, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughters, Bernice Marie and Mary Margaret; five brothers, Matthew (Viola), Lawrence (Agnes), Norbert, John, and Martin (Beatrice); a sister in law, Edith Crabb, and a grandson, Marc Nieto.



VISITATION: Wednesday, February 22, 2012 from 4-7 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave, Fond du Lac. FUNERAL: Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Presentation Church, 705 Michigan Ave, North Fond du Lac with the Reverend Edward Sippel officiating. Friends may call on Thursday at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services. Entombment will follow at Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery.
