Edward R. "Royce" Clausen, 80, formerly of North Fond du Lac, and currently of 579 Kingswood Avenue, Fond du Lac, died Wednesday, March 10, 2004, at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born November 3, 1923, in North Fond du Lac, a son of Edward B. and Adabelle Brandt Clausen. He married Mary Sue Scanlon in November of 1946, and she preceded him in death on November 2, 1973. He later married Alice B. Steinbarth on May 5, 1974. She preceded him in death on January 6, 1986. Mr. Clausen was a life long member of Presentation Church of North Fond du Lac. He was formerly employed by the Soo Line Railroad as a carman and boilermaker for 30 years, retiring in 1985. He was a veteran of WW II serving with the US Navy from March 19 of 1943 February 27 of 1946. He enjoyed carpentry and gardening. Surviving is a daughter, Christine (John) Magdefrau of Fond du Lac, a sister, LaVerne (Ray) Bonnin of Appleton, a sister-in-law, Charlotte Flanders, of Tucson, AZ, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two wives, an infant son, Steven James, a granddaughter, JoAnn Magdefrau, two brothers, Kenneth and Lee, a sister-in-law, Shirley Clausen, and a brother-in-law, David Flanders Sr.
Visitation for Mr. Edward R. "Royce" Clausen will be on Saturday, March 13, 2004, from 9:30 to 11:00 am at Presentation Church in North Fond du Lac. Cremation has taken place. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 on Saturday at the church. The Rev. John Simon will officiate and inurnment of cremated remains will be in Calvary Cemetery.
