Edwin C. Busse, 92, formerly of Western Avenue and a resident of the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home for the past 4 ½ years, died there on Monday, April 10, 2006. He was born January 24, 1914, in Princeton, the son of Adolph and Minnie Kinzel. On September 2, 1940, he married Cornelia Driefuerst in Fond du Lac. She preceded him in death on December 20, 2000. Mr. Busse was a faithful member of Holy Family Parish attending St. Mary's Church and more recently Sacred Heart Church. He was formerly employed by Infant Socks for 32 years, and later by the Fond du Lac School System, retiring in 1979. Edwin was a veteran of WW II serving with the Army's 90mm aircraft division, 132nd Anti-Aircraft Gun Battalion from 1941-1945. Surviving is a daughter, Carol Sarauer and her husband, Glenn of Fond du Lac, one grandson, Dr. Todd Sarauer and his wife Tammy of Fond du Lac, one granddaughter, Tracy Schmit and her husband Steven of Fond du Lac, three great-grandsons, Brady, Zachary, and Dawson, and a great-granddaughter, Ashley. His parents, wife, five sisters, Laura, Louise, Adeline, Pearl, and Marge, and a brother, Alvin, preceded him in death.
Visitation for Mr. Edwin C. Busse will be on Wednesday, April 12, 2006, from 3 to 4:30 pm at Sacred Heart Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 4:30 pm at the church on Wednesday. Entombment will be in the Chapel of The Risen Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery. The Rev. Dennis Budka of Holy Family Parish will officiate. Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is serving the family.
