Edwin L. Jahn, age 89, went to his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at his home in North Fond du Lac surrounded by his family. He was born on February 8, 1924 in the Town of Westford in Dodge County, WI, the son of Walter and Edith (Schmidt) Jahn. On July 27, 1947 he married Doaine R. Engelhardt in Fox Lake. He owned and operated Ed Jahn Standard Gas Stations in Fond du Lac and North Fond du Lac. Later Edwin worked at Mercury Marine, retiring from there in 1987.After retirement you could always find Ed volunteering his time at St. Paul's Lutheran Church and School in North Fond du Lac, where he was a member. He also enjoyed tinkering on lawnmowers or snowblowers in his driveway.SURVIVORS: his wife of sixty five years, Doaine; two daughters, Jane (Ken) Neas and Marlene (Al) Hansen all of Fond du Lac; grandchildren, Shannon Eiler of Fond du Lac, Christopher Hansen of Bartlett, IL, and Nicholas Hansen of Fond du Lac, great-grandchildren, Thad Eiler and Gage Eiler both of Fond du Lac; one brother, Russell Jahn of Pleasant Grove, Utah, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Ruby (Lester) Hoefs, two brothers, Edward Jahn in infancy, and Raymond Jahn.
VISITATION: Monday, May 13, 2013 from 10:30 A.M. until 1:30 P.M. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 1010 Adams Ave, North Fond du Lac. FUNERAL: Monday, May 13, 2013 at 1:30 P.M. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Revs. Thomas Behnke and Michael Kampman officiating. Burial will follow at Ledgeview Memorial Park.
