Eileen M. Ries

November 9, 1931 — October 26, 2007

Eileen Ries of Lomira passed away on Friday, October 26, 2007 at her home after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Antigo, Wisconsin on November 9, 1931, the daughter of Ella and Ervin Guth. Eileen graduated from Elcho High School and earned a bachelor's degree from Oshkosh State College in 1953. On August 7, 1954, she married Leo (Pat) Ries and together they built Shady Lawn Farm into the peaceful oasis that it is today. Eileen inspired students at Merrill, Fond du Lac, Brownsville, Theresa and Lomira Elementary Schools during her 34 year career. She cherished every moment of teaching. Her greatest lesson was taught by the way she lived. She touched so many lives with her kindness and love, always putting others first. Spending quality time with family and friends was foremost in her mind. Survivors include her loving husband Leo (Pat) Ries; daughters Margaret (Doug) Green, Susan (Chris) Dreyer, Patricia Ries, and son, Scott (Diane) Ries; two grandchildren Tyler and Trinity Ries, two step grandchildren Bill (Tammy) Green, Ann (Michael) Schlag, five step great grandchildren; sister Marion (Marvin) Sell; sister-in-laws Bernice (Bill) Cook, Beatrice(Buddy) Schill and many other special relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her stepmother Olive Lear Guth.



Visitation: Visitation will be from 4 - 7 P.M. on Monday, October 29, 2007 at Uecker- Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave., Fond du Lac, WI 54935. Services: The funeral service will follow visitation, beginning at 7:00 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. A private family interment will follow on Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at Ledgeview Memorial Park, Fond du Lac.Memorials in her name may be directed to the family to establish aneducational fund for Lomira Elementary School. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to the hospital and hospice staff of St. Agnes hospital.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.Additional information and guestbook can be found at www.ueckerwitt.com
