ELAINE A. HALLWACHSElaine A. Hallwachs, age 83 formerly of 816 Security Drive, died Saturday, April 16,2005 at the Lincoln House where she had resided for the past two years. Elaine was born on November 7,1921 in Curtis, WI, Clark County the daughter of Engman and Mabel Smith Gilbertson. On April 18,1945 she married Walter Hallwachs in Appleton. He preceded her in death on December 18,1995. Elaine worked as a sales clerk for W.T. Grant in Milwaukee for 27 years. She has been a Fond du Lac resident since 1976 and prior to that she resided in Milwaukee. She was a member of the Church of Peace, United Church of Christ, she volunteered at the Fond du Lac Senior Center where she called bingo. Elaine enjoyed reading, crosswords, bird watching, and ridesthrough the park. For 15 years Elaine claimed she had the best of both worlds Florida in the winter and Wisconsin in the summer.SURVIVORS: three sisters, Janet White, Fond du Lac, Phyllis Jahns, Fond du Lac, Le Moine (James) Marcoe, Rosendale, one brother, Harold (Carol) Gilbertson, Appleton. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, Howard, one sister, Marjorie, two brother-in-laws, Melvin "Butch" Jahns, and Gerald "Jerry" White.



VISITATION: Wednesday, April 20, 2005 from 12 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park. FUNERAL: Wednesday, April 20, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. at the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park. Reverend Reverend Sharon Stier will officiate. Cremation will take place after the traditional services with inurnment in the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum.Memorials appreciated to Lincoln House or Hospice Hope."Special thanks to the Lincoln House and Hospice Hope staff for their special care and concern."Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is serving the family.
