Elaine A. Mahnke-Gorski

May 31, 1931 — May 14, 2014

Elaine A. Mahnke-Gorski, 82, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Harbor Haven Health and Rehabilitation Center in Fond du Lac. She was born in Milwaukee on May 31, 1931, the daughter of Theofil and Sabina (Drozewski) Radziejewski. Elaine married Eugene Mahnke in 1951 at St. Stanislaus Church in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death on January 28, 1995. On June 26, 1999 Elaine married Richard Gorski in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death on October 22, 2011.



She will be remembered for being a dear grandmother to 20, great-grandmother to 25 and great-great-grandmother to 2. When not caring for her family, Elaine had a long career in the health-care field, working as a doctor’s aide for many years in addition to fulfilling many other roles. She was a leader in the 4H and Scout Leader for her daughters’ Girl Scout troop. A member of the Christian Mothers and a devoted member to the friends she loved so much; the Fabulous 40’s/Bocci Ball group.



Elaine was a loving mother to her six children; Kathy Guettel (Doug Giffin), Sandy (Tom) Martin, Mike Mahnke, Diane Doty, Lorri (Mike) Heimbach and Daren (Laura) Mahnke. She is further survived by all of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, and son-in-law, William Doty.
