Elda Marie Hayward (nee) Rose, 88, of Fond du Lac, passed away on June 15, 2017 at Liberty House in Fond du Lac.
Known as Chuck to all who knew her (thanks to a jovial uncle) she was born August 9, 1928 in the Town of Byron on the family farm, to August C. and Florence M. Rose (nee) Wietor. She graduated from Fond du Lac Senior High School. On December 26, 1946, she was united in marriage to Donald J. Hayward at St. Mary’s Parsonage Fond du Lac. As a young mother, Chuck served a significant leadership role at St. Therese Church and School in Schofield, WI. After raising her children, she worked at HC Prange until her retirement. She was a kind and selfless sole who adored children; always giving from her heart and wanting to help in any way she could. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Surviving Chuck are three sons, Jim (Marianne), Mike (Wanda), and Paul; a daughter, Mary Sesing (Tim); grandchildren, Dawn Ottery (Richard), Karen Hayward, Doug (Liz) Hayward, Christopher Hayward, Corey Hayward (Michelle), Casey Hayward (Candice), Angela Melville (Sean), Jeremy Sesing, Emilee Sesing; great-grandchildren, Blake & Aidan Ottery, Edison & Autumn Hayward, Macaulay & Ashton Hayward, Micah Hayward, Cambri Sippel, Layton & Cole Hayward, Merik Melville, Noah Sesing, as well as several nieces & nephews.
Chuck was preceded in death by her husband, Don on July 9, 2013; her parents; father and mother-in-law, Arvil & Mae Hayward; grandson, Donald J. Hayward II; sister, Valeria and her husband William Leasa; brother in law, John Hayward and his wife Eileen.
The visitation will be held from 9:30 – 11:00 AM on Monday, June 19, 2017 at Sacred Heart Church. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 19, 2017 at Sacred Heart Church. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery.
