Elda May Rockhoff (Tietz) of North Fond du Lac was called to her heavenly home on Sunday, December 21, 2008, at her home. Elda was born as a gift from God to Reinhold and Lillian (Krug) Tietz on October 2, 1938, in New Prague, Minnesota. Her family also included two brothers, Victor and Norman and a sister, Bonnie. She was made a child of God through the miracle of holy baptism on October 16, 1938, at Salem Lutheran Church of New Prague, Minnesota. She continued to hear and learn God's Word as a child and publicly confessed her faith during her confirmation at Salem on June 1, 1952. Elda promised life long faithfulness in marriage to James Rockhoff on June 21, 1960. God blessed them with four boys, Jonathan, Roger, David, and Tim. God blessed their marriage together for 48 ½ years to the day. Before marrying Jim, Elda taught grade school at Grand Island, Nebraska. Elda was a faithful wife and mother all the days of her married life. She enjoyed singing in the church choir, playing the hand chimes, reading, jigsaw puzzles, taking care of her beautiful green plants, and volunteering her God-given time and talents in many different ways to help others. Elda was a friend to many and always willing to talk and help in any way that she could. Those who mourn Elda's presence in this life, but who rejoice in the fact that she is now home in heaven with Jesus include her husband, Jim; her four boys, Jon (Deb) of Wichita, KS; Roger (Cindy) of Gainseville, FL; David (Janice) of Kenosha, WI; Tim of Houston, TX; eight grandchildren; her brothers, Victor and Norman, her sister, Bonnie, and many friends. Those who preceded Elda in death include her parents, Reinhold and Lillian Tietz, and her stepmother, Violet.
