Elfrieda B. Olig

Elfrieda B. Olig, 91, formerly of Pipe and for the past 6 ½ years a resident of Serenity Circle, St. Francis Home, Fond du Lac, died Thursday, March 19, 2009 at the home. She was born July 13, 1917 in Johnsburg, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Schneider Steffes. On November 22, 1939 she married Jerome P. Olig at St. John the Baptist Church, Johnsburg. Jerome preceded her in death on September 16, 1999. She worked for a number of years at Prange Way in the domestics department. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Johnsburg and their Altar and Rosary Society. Elfrieda enjoyed bowling, gardening, walleye fishing, dancing, reading and she liked harmonizing to music. She assisted her husband with record keeping in his herd technician business. SURVIVORS: four children, Judith (Harvey) Wollersheim, St. Peter, Carolyn (Larry) Twidwell, Butte, MT, Jonathan (Ann) Olig, Oshkosh, Cynthia (Mark) Schneider, Fond du Lac; twelve grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three step grandchildren; seven step great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Elfrieda Steffes, St. Peter; two nieces; four nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son-in-law, Floyd J. Brill (Jr.); one sister, Dorothy C. Steffes; one brother, Elmer Steffes; two brothers-in-law, Reinhardt Olig and Delmore Olig; one sister-in-law, Audrey Olig; one nephew.



VISITATION: will be from 9:30 AM "“ 11 AM on Saturday, March 28, 2009 at St. John the Baptist Church, Johnsburg. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, March 28, 2009 at the church with Rev. Joseph Coerber officiating. Entombment will be in Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park. 'The family would like to express their deep appreciation to the staff of Hospice Hope and St. Francis Home for their kindness and compassionate care given to mother while she was a resident.'In lieu of flowers memorials are appreciated to the Alzheimer's Association.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
