Elinor A. "Tootie" JohnsonMrs. Elinor A. "Tootie" Johnson, 94, formerly of 327 E. 9th Street, died Monday, October 11, 2004, at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home, where she had been a resident since February of 2003. She was born May 27, 1910, in North Fond du Lac, the daughter of Martin and Amanda Raduenz Hrabik. She was a 1928 graduate of North Fond du Lac High School, and a 1932 graduate of Lawrence College Conservatory of Music, where she received her Bachelor of Music degree. Mrs. Johnson was a member and past President of the XI Chapter of the Sigma Alpha Iota International Professional Music Fraternity. She was initiated into the Order of Jobs Daughters in 1928, and was the 37th member in Fond du Lac, and was also a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star. On October 12, 1940, she married William "Harry" Johnson at Church of Our Savior Evangelical Lutheran. He preceded her in death on May 2, 1995 They had celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1990. Mrs. Johnson was a member of Church of Our Savior Evangelical Lutheran, and was church organist from 1937 to 1972. She was a lifelong musician, and had begun teaching piano, organ, and voice at the age of 16, retiring in 2001 at the age of 91. Elinor was a recognized vocal soloist and preformed weekly on KFIZ in the 1930's. She was an avid bowler and bowled until the age of 91.Surviving is a son, Jerry (Karen) Johnson of North Fond du Lac, a daughter, Janice (Tom) Slater of Fond du Lac, four grandchildren, Joel (Brenda) Johnson of Van Dyne, Jodi (Jeff) Guenther of Shawano, Carey (Karyn) Slater of Fond du Lac, and Kasey (Dustin) Woxland of Waupun, eight great-grandchildren, Jenna and Justin Johnson, Kylie and Luke Guenther, Alex, and Sinjin Slater, and Saleena and Addison Woxland, and her faithful companion, her dog, Buddy. Her parents, husband, and a great-grandson, Joel Johnson, Jr, preceded her in death.



Funeral services will be on Thursday, October 14, 2004, at 1:30 pm at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. The Rev. Duane Wisner will officiate and burial will be in Rienzi Cemetery. A private family visitation will be held prior to the funeral services. A memorial has been established in her name for a music scholarship fund in the North Fond du Lac school system.
