Elizabeth A. Mcdermott

Elizabeth A. McDermott, 64, of Fond du Lac, died Friday, March 24, 2023, after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Fond du Lac on July 25, 1958, a daughter of Royal and Joanne (Neisius) McDermott.

Elizabeth was a graduate of Goodrich High School in 1976. She became a dispatcher for Fond du Lac County and retired after 26 loyal years of service.

“Grandma Lizzie” lived for her three grandkids. She spoiled them every chance she got with endless amounts of love and gifts. She enjoyed every opportunity to babysit. She traveled along to all of their hockey practices and games all over the state. She was Easton and Evelyn’s number one fan. She also made sure Eleanor had enough M&Ms to help sit through a game. There will always be a spot in the bleachers for her forever cheering them on. They were her pride and joy.

She was also a loyal Milwaukee Brewer fan, watched every game possible, and knew every stat and player in the league. She also loved the North Fond du Lac Orioles, Marian College Sabres, and Blue Sox.

July 25th was always a special day. Not only was it her birthday, it was a shared birthday with her only child, Josh. It was a celebration she looked forward to every year. It was their special day.

She is survived by her son, Joshua (Annie) McDermott; three grandchildren, Easton, Evelyn, and Eleanor; her brother, Michael (Jennifer) McDermott; and two sisters, Mary (Tim) Iwen, and Jane Keenan. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother-in-law, Jim Keenan.

A gathering will be held from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place.
