Elizabeth C. EmersonElizabeth C. Emerson, 88, formerly of 761 Scott St. in Fond du Lac and currently a resident of Manorcare Nursing Home died Monday, April 25, 2005 at the home. Elizabeth was born June 20, 1916 in Chicago, IL, a daughter of Frank and Eva Allen Collins. On May 17, 1941 she married Roger Emerson in Wilmette, IL. Elizabeth worked as a secretary at several offices in Chicago, sold Avon, and took pride in being a wife and homemaker. She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church in Fond du Lac. She was also a member of The League of Women Voters, the Christian Women's Club, and volunteered as a poll worker. She loved playing cards, camping, baking Christmas cookies, and enjoyed doing crafts. Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Roger of Fond du Lac, one daughter; Debi Emerson of Oshkosh, one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter; Karen, one sister, and several brothers-in law and sisters-in-law.
At the family's request, there will be no visitation or services. Cremation will take place with burial in Greenwood Cemetery in Greenwood, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Elizabeth's name may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association, the National Breast Cancer Association, or Salem United Methodist Church. Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is serving the family.
