Elmer A. Kohlman, age 91, formerly of Fond du Lac, died Wednesday, July 06, 2005 at Markesan Resident Home, Markesan. He was born on May 24, 1914 in St. Cloud the son of Louis and Mary Darneider Kohlman. On June 1, 1938 he married Gertrude Halfman at St. Peter's Catholic Church, St. Peter. He was a graduate of Fond du Lac High School in 1926. Elmer worked as a cheese maker, and then he farmed for the majority of his life. He was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, Council 664, Fond du Lac, a member of the Town of Fond du Lac Volunteer Fire Department, and a lifelong member of the Wisconsin Holstein Association of America. He was also a former member of Sacred Heart and St. Mary's Churches, Fond du Lac, and Our Lady of the Lake in Green Lake.SURVIVORS: his wife Gertrude of Markesan, four daughters, Nancy (John) Furr of Chicago, Vicki Davies of Madison, Pat Kohlman of Madison, Jean (Dennis) Adams of Green Lake, one son, Terry (Kathy) Kohlman of Princeton, eight grandchildren, who will act as pallbearers, John Furr Jr, Amy Furr-Boone, James Davies, Evan Davies, Rachel Adams-Nitz, Josh Adams, Mike Kohlman, and Anne Kohlman-Menzies, nine great-grandchildren, one sister, Arleene Kohlman-Morton of Spokane, WA, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Paul and Harold Kohlman.
VISITATION: Saturday, July 9, 2005 from 12:30-2:30 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. FUNERAL: Saturday, July 9, 2005 at 2:30 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home with Deacon Ricardo Munoz officiating. Entombment will follow at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated in Elmer's name to the American Diabetes Association.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is serving the family.
