Elmer C. Goldapske, age 88, of North Fond du Lac, died Monday, June 04, 2018 at Hospice Home of Hope surrounded by his family. He was born on December 17, 1929, in Fond du Lac, the son of Paul and Minnie (Heber) Goldapske. On December 16, 1951 he married Billie Jean Yates. She preceded him in death on June 24, 2017. Elmer was a Veteran of the United States Air Force serving from January 5, 1951 until October 5, 1954. He worked at Medalist in Oshkosh retiring in 1992. He enjoyed the Packers, Brewers, hunting, fishing, bowling, baseball, and especially loved being up north in Crivitz in the woods with his loving wife. He loved watching the birds. Elmer was a member of Luther Memorial Church.
Survivors include eight children, Gail High of Eden, Donna Jean (Wayne) Poepping of Fond du Lac, Sue (Jack) Wollitz of Neshkoro, Ronald P. (Keli) Goldapske of Redgranite, Jacqueline Ann (Mike) Schwersinske of North Fond du Lac, Peggy L. (Michael) Meyer of Fond du Lac, Pamela J. (Andrew) Schmid of Fond du Lac, John F. (Barbara) Goldapske of Fond du Lac; twenty-nine grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two brothers, Henry (Pat) Goldapske and Fred Goldapske all of Fond du Lac; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mildred Collins, David (Lynn) Yates, and W.L. Yates all of Meridian, MS; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Billie Jean; three sisters; and seven brothers.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, June 9, 2018 from 10:00 AM until 12 noon at Luther Memorial Church, 134 21st St, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. A funeral service will follow the visitation at the church at 12 noon. Burial will take place at Estabrooks Cemetery.
