Elmer D. Thielitz

Elmer D. Thielitz, 91, of Fond du Lac, died Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at his residence. He was born December 7, 1920 in North Fond du Lac, the son of Otto and Margaret Kempf Thielitz. On September 23, 1944 he married Dorothy L. Salzman at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, North Fond du Lac. Dorothy preceded him in death on November 13, 2004. Elmer worked for the Kohler Co. for 36 years, retiring in 1986. He enjoyed flower gardening, playing bingo, walking, watching football and baseball, and putting together jigsaw puzzles.SURVIVORS: three children, Sandra (John) Sandberg, Fond du Lac, James (Susan) Thielitz, North Fond du Lac, Susan (Ted) Thielitz, Fond du Lac; four grandchildren, Troy Pagel, Tracy (Mike) Kohnke, Todd (Jennifer) Pagel, Jeff Thielitz; two step grandchildren, Joe (Sue) Sandberg, Jay Sandberg; five great grandchildren, Tylar, Alexandria, Abby, Madison, and Connor. He is further survived by his siblings, Ben Thielitz, Fond du Lac, Marie Cooley, Antigo, Agnes Tischer, Fond du Lac, Rosie Kieper, Fond du Lac, Cliff Thielitz, Des Plaines, IL, William Fritz, Oshkosh; two sisters-in-law, Marge Schingen and Charlotte Braatz, both of North Fond du Lac. He was preceded in death by his parents; his father and mother-in-law; his wife, Dorothy; three sisters-in-law, Ruth Sabel, Bev Thielitz, Margaret Thielitz; five brothers-in-law, Robert Schingen, Robert Braatz, Elmer Tischer, Maynard Kieper, Merle Cooley; one step grandson, James Sandberg; his beloved cat, Cuddles.



VISITATION: will be from 10 AM "“ 12:30 PM on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 12:30 PM on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, with Rev. Jennifer C.M. Dawson officiating. Entombment will take place in Ledgeview Memorial Park Shrine of Rest Mausoleum.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
