Elmer F. Adams, 79, of 136 N. Berger Parkway, died Tuesday, October 09, 2007, at his residence. He was born October 21, 1927, in Pittsville, WI, the son of Clarence and Linnie MacIntre Adams. On May 27, 1977, he married Grace A. Seibel Diederichs in Lake County, IL. Mr. Adams was a member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church. Elmer was formerly employed by Mercury Marine for 21 years, retiring in 1986. He was a veteran of WW II serving in the Philippines as a prisoner guard, and was a member of Bohlman-Grimes Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1904.Surviving is his wife, Grace, a daughter, Kathy Adams of Wisconsin Rapids, four sons; Marvin Adams of Richmond, VA, Lynn (Missy) Adams of Waupun, Roger Adams of Portage, WI, and Roy Adams of North Fond du Lac, three step-sons; Jim Diederichs of Glenbulah, WI, and Greg (Juli) Diederichs and Brian Diederichs, both of Fond du Lac, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren. He is further survived by two brothers, Bob Adams and Leland (Marge) Adams, both of Wisconsin Rapids, and three sisters; Florence Adams and Christine Manke, both of Wisconsin Rapids, and Janet (Wilmer) Kannenberg of West Bend. Preceding him in death were his parents, a daughter, Sandra Jones, a grandson, Steven Joe, four brothers, and three sisters.
Visitation for Mr. Elmer F. Adams will be on Friday, October 12, 2007, from 10 to 1 pm at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church. Funeral services will be at 1 pm at the church on Friday. The Rev. David Haugly will officiate and burial will be in the Garden of Valor, Ledgeview Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Mr. Adams' name.
