ELMER J. MESSMERElmer J. Messmer, age 94, formerly of 171 Ruggles St, and of 15 N. Marr St, Fond du Lac, died Saturday, December 11, 2004 at Hospice Home of Hope. He was born in Fond du Lac on September 20, 1910 the son of George and Pauline Guenther Messmer Sr. On June 30, 1965 he married Rosella Kohn at St. Mary's Church. Rosella preceded him in death on April 4, 1998. Elmer was a window repairman for A.A. Loehr Co. in Fond du Lac; he later worked for Huber Brothers Pharmacy and Combination Door in Fond du Lac. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the European Theatre from 1942 to 1945. SURVIVORS: one step-daughter, Rosemary Stoegbauer of Long Beach, CA, one brother in law, Nicholas Kohn of Oshkosh, one sister in law, Rosemary Kohn of Fond du Lac, further survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one brother, two sisters, one infant sister, and one-step daughter Dolores Wilhelms.
VISITATION: Tuesday, December 14, 2004 from 12 noon until 2:00 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. FUNERAL: Tuesday, December 14, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Reverend Dr. Martin Koehler will officiate. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Trier-Puddy American Legion Post No.75 will conduct military graveside services. Elmer requests that there be no flowers.
