Elsie M. (Schneider) Rahmer, 74, of Fond du Lac, died February 25, 2009, at St. Agnes Hospital after a courageous battle throughout her life. She was born on February 2, 1935, in her homestead of Stockbridge, WI, the daughter of Jacob and Veronica Schmitt Schneider. On January 24, 1953, she married George L. Rahmer at St. Mary's Church in Chilton. Nine years ago she lost the love of her life and husband of 46 years. Elsie was a member of Holy Family Parish and Eagles Aerie #270 Auxiliary. She was formerly employed by Wells Manufacturing for over 35 years, retiring in 1993.Elsie is survived by her five sons, Daniel (Pam) Rahmer of Phillips, WI, Larry (Karen) Rahmer of St. Cloud, DuWayne (Jackie) Rahmer of Boonville, MO, and George R. Rahmer and Richard (Claudette) Rahmer, both of Fond du Lac, one daughter, Susan (John) Averbeck of Brookfield, 12 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. She is further survived by a sister, Arlene (Ronald) Preissner of Fond du Lac, six brothers, Clarence (Eileen) Schneider of Chilton, Fredrick (Chris) Schneider of Athelstane, WI, William (Phillys) Schneider of Fond du Lac, Alvin "Butch" (Kay) Schneider and Harold Schneider, all of Chilton, and Gordon (Sharon) Schneider of Collins, WI, and a brother-in-law, Melvin "Putz" Lisowe of Chilton. Elsie was preceded in death by her husband, George, four infant children, Diane, Donna, Michael, and Mary Ann, a grandson, Nicholas Rahmer, both her parents, Jacob and Veronica Schneider, two brothers, Leo and Eugene, and a sister, Lorraine Lisowe.



Visitation for Mrs. Elsie Rahmer will be on Monday, March 2, 2009, from 9 to 11 am at Holy Family Church, 271 4th Street Way. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 am at the church on Monday.
