Elsie E. Redman

Elsie E. Redman, 104, of Oakfield, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 5, 2024, after celebrating her 104th birthday, at Waupun Christian House. She was born on July 2, 1920, in Oakfield, the daughter of Frank and Bertha (Miller) Hackbarth. Elsie was the oldest living person in Oakfield. On September 10, 1938, she married Rudolph Redman in Oakfield. She was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. Elsie enjoyed gardening, baking, canning, flowers, and especially taking care of her great grandchildren. 

 She is survived by her daughter, Betty Clark; seven grandchildren, Mike Redman, Debbie Cousins, Jeff (Donna) Redman, Linda (Willard) Nolan, Dan (Shelly) Redman, Becky (Mike) Kunick, and Denise (Darrick) Sing; 16 great grandchildren; 16 great great grandchildren; sister, Evelyn Yantz; best friend, Beatrice Geisthardt; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Bertha; husband, Rudolph; son, Robert (Judy) Redman; five brothers, Charlie, Frankie, Roland, William, and Harry; three sisters, Elda, Edith, and Nora; son-in-law, Dave Clark; and one great grandson son-in-law.

 The visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 245 South Second Street, Oakfield, WI. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 12:00 PM at Church. Burial will occur at Avoca Cemetery, Oakfield, WI. 

 In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed in Elsie’s name to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church or Oakfield Historical Society.
