Elton T. "Tom" Retzleff

Elton T. "Tom" RetzleffElton T. Retzleff, 58, of 2415 Wisconsin Avenue, New Holstein, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 26, 1947, in Fond du Lac, the son of Elmer and Evelyn Franzen Retzleff. He grew up on a farm in Oakfield, WI and graduated from Oakfield highschool in 1965. On September 16, 2000, he married Donna Pfeiffer Schneider at St. John United Church of Christ in New Holstein, where he was a member. Tom was employed by Mercury Marine for 40 years as a machinist, and was a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Lodge #1947. He loved hunting, especially out of state, golfing, travel, and spending time with his children and grandchildren, and will always be remembered for his great sense of humor. Surviving is his wife, Donna Schneider, three sons, Timothy (Susan) Retzleff of North Fond du Lac, Craig Retzleff (Special Friend Quita Konrath) of Slinger, and Joseph (Nina) Retzleff of Chilton, eight grandchildren, Amanda, Taylor, Abbi, and Billi Retzleff, Ian Crego, Austin, Keagan, and MaKailey Retzleff, his mother, Evelyn Retzleff of Fond du Lac, a brother, Dean Retzleff of Madison, and three sisters, Shirley (John) Ferguson and Gail Rebedew, both of Fond du Lac, and Darlene Steffen of North Fond du Lac, and a brother-in-law Curtis Law of Fond du Lac. He is further survived by two step-sons, Todd (Kim) Schneider of Green Bay, and Scott (Pamela) Schneider of Valders, a step-daughter, Sarah (Daniel) Feldner of Plymouth, three step-grandchildren, Gavin, Jaden, and Sophia Schneider, his former wife, Lauren (Scott) Collier of St. Louis, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. His father, a sister, Delores Law, a granddaughter, Ali Marie Retzleff, and a brother-in-law, Edward Rebedew preceded him in death.



Visitation for Tom Retzleff will be on Monday, November 7, 2005, from 2 to 4:30 pm at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, and from 6 to 7 pm at St. John United Church of Christ, 2111 Church Street, New Holstein, WI. Funeral services will be at 7 pm at the church on Monday. The Rev. James E. Werner will officiate and burial of cremated remains will be in the New Holstein City Cemetery.
