Emerald L. Joas

Emerald Lee Joas, 84, of Fond du Lac, died Monday, June 13, 2011 at Grancare Nursing Center. She was born July 21, 1926 in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Aaron and Leoras Welch Rose. Emerald Lee was a 1944 graduate of Fond du Lac Senior High School and graduated from Bellin Memorial School of Nursing in 1947. On August 28, 1948 she married Donald F. Joas at St. Mary's Church and he preceded her in death on December 3, 1991. Emerald Lee was Director of Nursing at Grancare Nursing Center for 25 years retiring in 1977. Following retirement she volunteered with Hospice for three years in the Fond du Lac area. She was a member of Holy Family Parish. Emerald Lee enjoyed her contributions to the community as a health care provider and also enjoyed working crossword puzzles.SURVIVORS: five children, Steven (Nancy) Joas, Waupun, Stuart (Carol) Joas, Oakfield, Stanley (Jeanette) Joas, Campbellsport, Scott (Karen) Joas, New Mexico, Mary Joas; grandchildren; great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald; one sister and one brother.



VISITATION: will be from 10 AM "“ 12 Noon on Thursday, June 16, 2011 at Holy Family Church, 271 4th Street Way, Fond du Lac. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 Noon on Thursday, June 16, 2011 at Holy Family Church. Burial will take place in St. Charles Cemetery.In lieu of flowers memorials are appreciated to the American Cancer Society.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
