Emma K. Gurno

Emma K. Gurno, 91 of Fond du Lac, died Saturday, December 29, 2012 at All About Life Rehabilitation Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Fond du Lac on June 7, 1921 the daughter of Alex and Marie Schaefer Roth. On February 26, 1938 she married Edward J. Gurno in Fond du Lac. Edward preceded her in death on November 10, 1956. She was employed at The Beer Hut, Retlaw Hotel, and Model Laundry. Emma was a member of St. Peters Evangelical Lutheran Church. She enjoyed bingo, bowling and family functions. In 1987 she won the State Senior Bowling Tournament. Emma was involved in the Foster Grandparents Program.SURVIVORS: Emma is survived by six children, David (Jo Ann) Gurno, Fond du Lac, Richard (Christine) Gurno, Fond du Lac, James (Sandra) Gurno, Fond du Lac, twins Donna Russell, West Allis, Donald Gurno Fond du Lac, Edward (Jane) Gurno, Fond du Lac, nineteen grandchildren, forty great-grandchildren and sixteen great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter Shirley (Francis) Altman, and five brothers, Paul, Leo, Gerhart, Walter and Donald, one sister Frieda (Ted) Woznick.



VISITATION: Friends may call on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Peters Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1600 South Main Street, Fond du Lac. FUNERAL: Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at St. Peters Evangelical Lutheran Church with Reverend Michael Zuberbier officiating. Burial will follow in Estabrooks Cemetery.
