Ernest A. Klatt Jr, age 85, died Friday, February 12, 2016 at his residence in Morrisonville, WI. He was born on January 31, 1931 in LeRoy, WI, the son of Ernest A. Klatt Sr. and Anna (Mueller) Klatt. Ernest served in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean War. On August 8, 1964 he married Carol Orich at Church of Peace in Fond du Lac. She preceded him in death on February 15, 1981. Ernest worked for seventeen years at Mayville Engineering. His love and passion in life was music. He had many guitars and numerous instruments and was always teaching himself how to play new instruments. Ernest and Carol had a band named the Wildwood Troubadores. He was member of Lord of Love Lutheran Church in DeForest, WI.
SURVIVORS: four children, Annette (C.J.) Klatt Puckett, Brenda (Cen) Katzte, Donald (Sylvia) Klatt, Dawn Klatt; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Kenneth Klatt, Diane Klatt, Lulabell Thomson, Rose Paul, and Cindy Duel; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Carol; one sister Marlene Smurawa; one brother Melvin Klatt.
VISITATION: Friday, February 19, 2016 from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. FUNERAL: Friday, February 19, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Empire Cemetery, Town of Empire.
