Ernestine A. "Ernie" Fox

Ernestine 'Ernie' A. Fox, 88 formerly of Fond du Lac and Neshkoro, died Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Beaver Dam Community Hospital, Beaver Dam. She was born in St. Anna, WI on Nov. 21, 1924 the daughter of John P. and Rose Sabel Mayer. She married Benedict E. Fox Oct. 30, 1945. Ernestine touched many lives with her warm smile, infectious laugh, gentle disposition, good hard working ethic and love for her family. She was a wonderful cook, making all the food especially for the Friday night fish fry for Fox's Tavern in Fond du Lac. She was a charter member of the Neshkoro Lioness Club where she had served as president. She was an active member of St. James Catholic Church Neshkoro. Ernie enjoyed bowling, cards especially cribbage, gardening and canning, ice fishing, baking pies, and was an avid packers and badgers fan. SURVIVORS: Ernestine is survived by four children; Richard (Sue) Fox, Santa Fe, NM, Barbara (Ronald) Garner, Beaver Dam, Thomas (Karen) Fox, Steamboat Springs, CO, Deborah (Steve) Schingen, Forest Lake, MN, thirteen grandchildren; Tony (Suzette) Fox, Jen Fox, Father Dominic (Paul) Garner, Joanne (Mike) Boeselager, John Garner, Christine Garner, Sarah (Jeremy) Behling Fox, Amy (Chris) Hutchins Fox, Jessica Fox, Scott (Kelli) Schingen, Joe (Karen) Schingen, Tim Schingen, Mike Schingen, and nine great grand-children. Ernestine is further survived by three sisters; Alma Halleman, Florida, Dorothy (Jerome) Fox, Fond du Lac, and Janet Novitske, Green Lake. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Benedict E. Fox, an infant daughter, Sharon, six brothers and sisters; Gilbert Mayer, Stella Lefeber, Marie Lefeber, Raymond Mayer, Catherine Fox and Francis Mayer. She is also survived by many brothers and sisters' in-law, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.



VISITATION: Friends may call on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 from 9:00 AM -11:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church, 271 Fourth Street Way, Fond du Lac, WI. FUNERAL: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Holy Family Church. Father Dominic Garner, Ernestine's grandson will officiate .Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.Memorial suggestions are Alzheimer's Association, stipends for masses or your intention.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
