Ervin G. Miller

Ervin G. Miller, 91, formerly of Lamartine and a current resident of the St. Francis Home, Fond du Lac, died Monday, August 25, 2008. He was born the son of Charles and Amanda Baldwin Miller on June 10, 1917 in the Town of Eldorado. On February 12, 1938 he married Hilda B. Franke and she preceded him in death on July 18, 1987. He was a member of Immanuel Trinity Lutheran Church. Ervin lived and farmed in the Town of Eldorado until 1947. He joined the Fond du Lac City Police Department on January 1, 1948 and resigned on June 15, 1952. He was a tavern keeper in Lamartine from 1952 "“ 1962. He was a member of the Lamartine Fire Department where he was the treasurer. Ervin drove truck for C. W. Transport, Gateway and Mauslin Trucking companies for 20 years retiring in 1982. He enjoyed gardening and shaking dice.SURVIVORS: one daughter, Shirley (John H.) Fitzpatrick, Lamartine; three grandchildren, John (Laurie) Fitzpatrick, Michael (Monica) Fitzpatrick and Cheryl (Brian) Kopf; nine great-grandchildren, Joey, Nicki, Meghan, Billy and Tim Fitzpatrick, Erin and Collin Fitzpatrick, Leslie and Carley Kopf; one sister-in-law, Marcella Brester, Fond du Lac; niece and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Hilda, one brother, Harry.



VISITATION: will be from 4 "“ 7 PM today, Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and again on Wednesday from 10 "“ 11 AM at church. The funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at Immanuel Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Alan Schaffmeyer officiating. Entombment will follow at the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
