Ervin M. Bartel

Ervin M. Bartel, 88 formerly of County Trunk I, died Wednesday, December 1, 2010at Grancare Nursing Center where he had been a resident for the past 2 years. He was born February 26, 1922 in St. Peter the son of John and Anna Freund Bartel. On January 12, 1942 he married Adell J. Haensgen at St. John The Baptist Church, Johnsburg. She preceded him in death on December 14,2001. Ervin owned and operated his own dairy farm and also was employed by the Fond du Lac School System for 24 years retiring in 1987.Since 1942 Ervin was a member of Holy Family Parish-St. Mary's Church. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, bowling in couples leagues, bee keeping, winemaking and loved gardening.SURVIVORS: Ervin is survived by six children; Darlene (Donal) Lee, Waupun, Arlyn (Carolyn)Bartel, Perth, Australia, John (Sherry) Bartel, Fond du Lac, Ann (Norm) Schmitz, Fond du Lac,Blaine (Julie) Bartel, Fond du Lac, Denise (Peter) Haase, Oakfield, 14 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by a sister Lillian LaBorde, Fond du Lac. Ervin was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and one grandchild.



VISITATION: Friends may call on Sunday, December 5, 2010 from 4 to 8 PM at the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and also at church from 9:30 to 10:30 AM on Monday. FUNERAL: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 6, 2010 at 10:30 AM at Holy Family Parish-St. Mary's Church. Reverend Robert Stiefvater will officiate. Entombment will follow at the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
