Erwin L. Dalka

Erwin L. "Jim" Dalka, 85 of Fond du Lac, died Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at his residence. He was born in Princeton on July 8, 1927 the son of Joseph and Caroline VonRotz Dalka. On November 19, 1949 he married Shirley Anklam at Princeton. Shirley preceded him in death on February 28, 2004. Erwin was a veteran of the U.S. Marines Corps serving in northern China from 1945 to 1947. He was employed with Mercury Marine for 22 ½ years retiring on December 31, 1990. He was a member of Presentation Catholic Church, North Fond du Lac for over 50 years. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking and especially fishing. Erwin was a member of Fond du Lac Eagles Aerie No.270.SURVIVORS: Erwin is survived by his five children, Dale Dalka, Fond du Lac, Wesley (Lori) Dalka, Oakfield, Kevin Dalka, Fond du Lac, Carla (Paul) Schneider, Fond du Lac, and Bruce Dalka, Elkhart Lake, five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Erwin is further survived by two sisters, Bernice Lewis, Princeton and Mildred Heffernon, Wisconsin Rapids. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a son Wayne, and three brother-in-laws, Gordon Lewis, Donald Heffernon and Carl Anklam.



VISITATION: Friends may call on Saturday, December 1, 2012 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. FUNERAL: Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 1:00 PM at the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Reverend Edward Sippel will officiate.
