Esperansa "Essie" Westphal, age 75 of 982 New Haven Avenue, died Saturday, August 2, 2008 at Theda Clark Regional Medical Center, Neenah.Essie was born on August 22, 1932 in Fond du Lac the daughter of Alphonso and Mary Flores Hernandez. On October 6, 1956 she married Richard M. Westphal at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Fond du Lac. Essie was a graduate of St. Agnes School of Nursing Class of 1955. She worked as a registered nurse in the emergency room and later was evening "P.M" supervisor retiring on July 1, 1997. She was a member of Holy Family Parish, and an active member of the St. Vincent De Paul Society. Essie enjoyed traveling, playing cards, cooking, Mexican music, reading, her children, grandchildren, brothers and sisters.Survivors include her husband, Richard M. Westphal, Fond du Lac, five children, Ann Marie (Paul) Hanke, LeRoy, Sue Westphal, Fond du Lac,Mike (Nancy) Westphal and their three children, Angela, twins, Joseph and Tony, Fond du Lac, Patty (Jim) Hoepfner and daughter Rachel, Fond du Lac, Nancy Westphal and her daughter Hannah, Fond du Lac. Essie is further survived by her ten brothers and sisters, Alphonso Hernandez, Phoenix, AZ, Mary (Harold) Zupke, Milwaukee, Beatrice (Lee) Schauer, Delavan, Josephine Gitto, Menomonee Falls, Amelia (Tom) Hlawek, Decatur, IL, Rosemary Hernandez, Fond du Lac, Richard Hernandez, Fond du Lac Tony (Mary) Hernandez, Milwaukee, Virginia (Mike) Reinardy, Appleton, Dolores Stack, Fond du Lac, and many nieces and nephews. Essie was preceded in death by her parents, two sister-in-laws, Gloria and Judy Hernandez, and two brother-in-laws, Tom Gitto, and John Stack.



VISISTATION: Friends may call on Tuesday, August 5, 2008 from 3 to 8 P.M. at the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 North Park Avenue, Fond du Lac. FUNERAL: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday August 6, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. at Holy Family Sacred Heart Parish with Reverend Patrick Heppe officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. There will be no visitation on Wednesday prior to services."Special thanks to niece, Chris Krienesky and the rest of C.C.U. staff as well as the 2nd floor staff at Theda Clark for their kindness and support during this difficult time". In Lieu of Flowers Memorials Appreciated to St. Vincent De Paul Society. Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
