Esther M. Briggs-Greminger, 92 formerly of Fond du Lac and a resident of Villa LorettoNursing Home, Mount Calvary for the past 5 years, died Sunday, April 24, 2011 at the nursing home. She was born April 20, 1919 in Oconto, WI the daughter of John B and Minerva (Merline)Briggs. Although severely visually impaired, Esther was very active at St. Joseph's Church in her youth and middle years. She was fiercely independent, and was a leader in fundraising sales to the point of having a special article written about her in the Commonwealth Reporter. Esther enjoyed church activities. She was born on Easter Sunday, April 20, 1919 and died on Easter Sunday, April 24, 2011.SURVIVORS: Esther is survived by her nephew, John (Shirlie) Briggs, Cincinnati, OH, and cousins Reverend John Bergstadt and Dorothy Bostedt, both of Green Bay. She is also survived by her dearest friend and guardian, Tracy Snyder of Fond du Lac, who was Esther's closet companion and helper for over 20 years. Esther is preceded in death by her brother, Francis Briggs.
VISITATION: Friend may call on Saturday, April 30, 2011 from 10:00-11:00 AM at Villa Loretto Nursing Home Chapel, Mount Calvary. FUNERAL: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM at the nursing home chapel with Reverend John Bergstadt officiating.
