Ethan Sean Kollmann

June 8, 1999 — March 14, 2025

On March 14, 2025, Ethan Sean Kollmann left this earth after a tragic accident the previous day. Ethan was born on June 8, 1999, in Fond du Lac, WI, to Kerry Kollmann and Sean Kollmann. Ethan married the love of his life and soulmate, Melissa (Lauersdorf) on September 21, 2024. Ethan attended grade school at St. Paul’s Lutheran School in North Fond du Lac and was a 2018 graduate of Horace Mann High School in North Fond du Lac, where he was a participant in Project Grill. Ethan also attended Moraine Park Technical College, where he received a degree in welding. Since he was old enough to, Ethan worked with his dad in the family business where he later became a partner.

Ethan loved fishing and spent hours on nearby lakes with Melissa, his younger brother Riley, his dad and various friends. He was always trying new styles of fishing, including fly-fishing for trout and even ice fishing with tip ups. Ethan was also very skilled at cooking on the grill, he loved smoking various meats and would spend hours getting them just right. He and Melissa would often share these meals with his mom, brother and friends. Ethan and Melissa spent many weekends camping, mostly at state parks, as Ethan loved being outdoors. Ethan liked gaming with his friends, attending Fond du Lac Bears Hockey games with his family, playing cornhole, and just living life. It was rare that Ethan was not smiling.

Ethan was a kind and loving person. He will be deeply missed by those he left behind, including his wife, Melissa; mom, Kerry; dad, Sean; brother, Riley Kollmann; maternal grandparents, David and Cathy Mensch; paternal grandparents, Jim and Marlene Kollmann; in laws, Tim and Becky Lauersdorf; brother-in-law, Josh (Jaymee) Lauersdorf and family; sisters-in-law, Karissa McDowell and Sarah Ott; aunts, uncles, cousins and many other friends. Ethan will be especially missed by McChicken, his ever-faithful cat.

Visitation for Ethan will be held from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM, Sunday, March 23, 2025, at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 4:00 PM, with Pastor Michael Kampman officiating. Cremation will follow the service.

Ethan chose life and was an organ donor. Ethan was humble and would not like to be seen as a hero, but this should not go unnoticed. A very heartfelt thank you to the doctors and nurses at ThedaCare in Neenah, especially to Ryan and Anna. They treated Ethan with absolute respect and care and supported the family with love and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to his wife, Melissa Kollmann. Several memorial projects dedicated to Ethan are planned.

Services are in the care of Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 North Park Avenue, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. Additional information and guestbook can be found at ueckerwitt.com
