Ethel J. Baker

Ethel J. Baker, 87 a resident of the Woodland Senior Living Facility, died Monday, January 28, 2008 at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home. She was born on March 10, 1920 in Sussex, New Brunswick, Canada, the daughter of Edmund and Margaret Logan McGowan. Ethel was a nursing graduate of St. John's Hospital, St. John, New Brunswick in 1941. She later moved to Wisconsin where she met Bernard W. Baker. They were married January 21, 1948 in Antigo, WI. They raised their six children in Fond du Lac, where Ethel was a registered nurse for many years at St. Agnes Hospital. Ethel enjoyed her retirement in Florida.SURVIVORS: three sons, Michael Baker, Thomas (Susie) Baker, Kenneth "Pete" (Therese) Baker; two daughters, Katherine (Bob) Haensgen, all of Fond du Lac and Mary Baker (special friend, Randy Cappuccio), Bayside, NY; six grandchildren, Justin Baker, Julie Nelson, Roya Sedghi, Ben and Lucas Baker, Nicolette Baker; nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard; one son, Steven; three brothers, Ernest, Joseph and Fr. Basil; three sisters, Sister Katherine Gertrude, Alice, Stenna .



VISITATION: The family will receive friends from 11 AM "“ 1 PM on Friday, February 1, 2008 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. FUNERAL: The Liturgy of the Word Service will be held at 1 PM on Friday at the funeral home with Deacon Paul Monzel officiating. Cremation has taken place. Inurnment will be held at Calvary Cemetery.
