Ethel M. Gustavus, 74, of Fond du Lac, died Friday, April 11, 2014 at St. Agnes Hospital. She was born August 19, 1939 in Crandon, WI, the daughter of Raymond and Bertha Waalkens Jewson. Ethel was a graduate of Fond du Lac High School class of 1957 and a graduate of Milwaukee Beauty School. On August 1, 1959 she married her best friend, David C. Gustavus at St. Matthew's United Methodist Church in Fond du Lac. Ethel was employed as a beautician at Roberta's Beauty Shop for 23 years and then she worked as the beautician at Rolling Meadows Nursing Home for 25 years, retiring in 2001. She was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church for 62 years. She was past president of St. Matthew's Dorcas Circle and a past chair person for United Methodist Women. Ethel had a HEART of Gold and a Smile for everyone. She loved to cook and bake, which she always shared with her family and friends. She also enjoyed crocheting and knitting.Her memory will be forever cherished by her husband of 54 years, David; two sons, Steve of Bonduel and Jeff of Fond du Lac; one daughter, Darcia (Kevin) Moore of Fond du Lac; three grandsons, Christopher, Eric (Elizabeth), and Robert; two granddaughters, Brianna and Jenny; three great grandchildren, Emma, Evan and Elizabeth. She is further survived by five sisters, Liona (Jim) Brockway, Lois (Chuck) Streblow, Karla (John) Kahlhamer, Karen Jewson, Phyllis (Jeff) Shoulak all of Fond du Lac; three brothers, Kenny of FL, Darrell and Delbert (Dawn) both of Fond du Lac; one sister-in-law, Beverly Jewson of IN; many nieces, nephews, and friends that she cherished. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Bertha Jewson; her in laws, Rhinold and Helen Gustavus; one brother, Dale.We will miss you with aching hearts and will always remember you with LOVE.
The visitation will be held from 9:30 "“ 11:30 AM on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Uecker- Witt Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Morning officiating. Burial will follow in Ledgeview Memorial Park Cemetery.
