Eugene A. "Gene" KellyEugene A. "Gene" Kelly, 85, formerly of 7590 Eagle Ln. in Fond du Lac and a resident of All About Life Rehabilitation Center for the past five years died Wednesday, October 20, 2004 at the nursing home. Gene was born July 27, 1919 in Fond du Lac, a son of Ernest and Meta Meyer Kelly. On April 11, 1942 he married Isabelle Root in Fond du Lac. She preceded him in death in 1998. Gene was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Air Corp as a gunner on B24 aircraft in Germany, Italy, and the African Theater. After his honorable discharge, Gene served his apprenticeship and became a journeyman carpenter. He worked for C.D. Smith, Immel, and Hutter Construction as well as others. After retirement Gene and his wife moved to Antigo and returned to Fond du Lac in 1990. He was a member of the Cathedral Church of St. Paul, the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners, the American Legion, and the 459th WW II Bomb Group.Survivors include one brother; Lyle (Ella) Kelly of Antigo, one daughter; Bonnie (Robert) Bosin of Van Dyne, two grandchildren; Kelly (Jeremy) Maurer of North Fond du Lac, Judd (Lora) Bosin of North Fond du Lac, and four great grandchildren; Brooke, Autumn, and Kayden Bosin and Gabriel Maurer. Gene was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and one brother; Marvin.



Visitation for Mr. Eugene Kelly will be held on Sunday, October 24, 2004 from 12:30 P.M.-2:00 P.M. at Cathedral Church of St. Paul. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 24, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. at Cathedral Church of St. Paul with the Very Rev. Theodore McConnell officiating. Entombment will follow at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Cathedral Church of St. Paul.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is serving the family.
