Eugene George "Buckshot" Jaber, age 76, died Saturday, March 31, 2007 at St. Francis Home. He was born on April 10, 1930 in Fond du Lac the son of George and Marena (Simon) Jaber. Eugene graduated from Fond du Lac Senior High School. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1950. He was a veteran of the Korean War and was stationed in Norfolk, Virginia on the USS Kula Gulf Aircraft Carrier. On May 16, 1952 he married Mary "Mary Jaye" Hall in Candon, North Carolina. Upon his discharge from the Navy, Eugene returned to Fond du Lac. He worked as a salesman for Westberg/Dittrich Buick and later for Gibson Chevrolet as a General Sales Manager. In 1983 he opened E.G. Jaber Auto Sales and operated that business until his retirement in 1995. He was an avid sportsman including hunting and fishing. One of Eugene's greatest accomplishments was winning the Walleye Weekend Fishing Tournament in 1979. He was a member of the Eagles Aerie #270, the Trier-Puddy American Legion Post #75, Ducks Unlimited, Sturgeons for Tomorrow, formerly a member of the Elks, and a member of Holy Family Parish. "Buckshot" was known by all for his dazzling smile. SURIVIVORS: three daughters, Cindy (Pat) Frank of Fond du Lac, Cheri Jaber of Milwaukee, Peg Jaber-Teresi of Milwaukee, six grandchildren, Katie (Jason) Rusch of Fond du Lac, Joshua Emanuel of Fond du Lac, Steve, Mike, Tony, and Aron Frank, three great-grandchildren, Hailey, Emily, and Cloe Rusch, one brother, Donald (Colleen) Jaber of Fond du Lac, nieces and nephews, Susan Jaber-Faris of Fond du Lac, Dan (Juli) Jaber of WY, Mike (Heidi) Jaber of Fond du Lac, great niece, Dani Jaber of WY. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved daughter, Penny Jean Jaber Emanuel, and one niece, Kathleen "KK" Jaber.
VISITATION: Tuesday, April 3, 2007 from 4-8 P.M. at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. FUNERAL: Wednesday, April 4, 2007 prayers will be held at the funeral home at 10:30 A.M. and at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Family Parish-Sacred Heart Church. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of prayers. Trier-Puddy American Legion Post #75 will conduct military graveside honors.The Jaber family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the nurses and staff at the St. Francis Home and the Sisters of St. Agnes especially Sr. Virginia, Hospice Hope, Dr. Trepanier, and the staff at the Lincoln House, also special thanks to Lois and Bob Pflum for all they have done for Eugene.
