Eugene G. Klein, 82, of Van Dyne, died Thursday, April 20, 2017 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac. He was born in North Fond du Lac on October 28, 1934 to George and Gertrude (Bohman) Klein. On September 1, 2001, Eugene married Joanne Marquart in Van Dyne. He worked for Petrie’s Moving Service, Mercury Marine and Schneider Trucking.
Eugene was a member of the Possum Lodge, the Van Dyne Lions Club and the Eagles Aerie #270. He enjoyed deer hunting and fishing for perch on Lake Winnebago with his brother, Larry and good friend, Ray.
Survivors include his wife, Joanne; three children, Clifford (Heidi) of Fond du Lac, Christine Klein of Milwaukee and Donald (Alesia) of the state of Washington; one step-daughter, Christina Marquart of Bloomington, Ill.; three grandchildren, Katherine (Patrick), Nicholas (Jessica) and Fate Riske; two step-granddaughters, Hannah Sladand and Alyssa Mendoza; and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Ronald (Betty) and Larry; three sisters, Mary (Dick) Johnson, Elizabeth Redman and Judy (Lloyd) Hawes, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia; two daughters, Elizabeth and Karen; his parents; a sister, Dorothy (Chris) Keller; a brother-in-law, Glenn Redman; and a sister-in-law, La Donna Klein.
Visitation for Eugene will be held Friday, April 28, 2017 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave. in Fond du Lac. The funeral service will be held Saturday, April 29, 2017 beginning at 11:00 AM at First Presbyterian Church, 1225 4th St. in Fond du Lac with Rev. Jack Harrison officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM and continue until the time of service. Burial in Ledgeview Memorial Park Cemetery will follow the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Eugene’s name.
