Eugene K. "Ozzie" Osborn

Eugene K. "Ozzie" Osborn, 93, of Fond du Lac died Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Hospice Home of Hope. He was born August 16, 1923 in Fond du Lac, the son of Charles F. and Josephine I. Ludwig Osborn. Eugene served in the US Army Air Corps from 1942 – 1945 in the European Theatre and was proud to say he cooked and chauffeured for the General. On December 27, 1945 he married Alice M. Fisher at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fond du Lac. Eugene drove semi truck for his father at Osborn & Son Trucking for 18 years and then for Mercury Marine for 25 years retiring in 1984. He was a member of Paper Valley Breakaways, Fond du Lac Outboard Club, and Holy Family Parish. Eugene enjoyed camping, boating, gardening, playing cards and dominoes, and solving word searches.



He is survived by his wife, Alice; four children, Jim (Yvonne) Osborn of Appleton, George (Maureen) Osborn of Lowell, IN, Nancy (John) Konz, of Texas, and Diane (John) Freund of Fond du Lac; ten grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Jeanette Kruchoski of Whitewater and Lila Brown of Milwaukee; one sister-in-law, Kathleen Osborn of Fond du Lac; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Irene (Robert) Smet; two brothers, Donald and Gilbert Osborn; one brother-in-law, Louis Brown; and a special cousin, Dorothy Scherer.



The visitation will be held from 1:00 – 3:00 PM on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Sacred Heart Church, 678 Western Avenue, Fond du Lac. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Sacred Heart Church. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of the Risen Christ Mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery.
