Eunice A. Westphal

Eunice A. Westphal, 87, formerly of 292 Lexington Street, and currently a resident of ManorCare for the past five months, died Monday, September 28, 2009, at her residence. She was born June 5, 1922, in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Gerhard A. and Gertrude H. Poetter Wegner. On November 8, 1941, she married Wallace G. Westphal at St. Peters Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on June 21, 1996. She was formerly employed by St. Agnes Hospital in the Food Service Department for 10 years, retiring in 1989. Prior to this she was employed by the Fond du Lac Department Store until its' close in 1973. She was a lifelong member of St. Peters Evangelical Lutheran Church, and for over 20 years, she was a member of the WLA Auxiliary, and for over 50 years was a member of the "500" Ladies Card Club. She was a volunteer with Galloway House, enjoyed needlework (embroidery), bowling, and traveling. Surviving are three daughters, Judith (Dale) Rockow, Lynn (Gordon) Bump, and Marilyn (Jay) Furlong, all of Fond du Lac, 18 grandchildren; Dawn, Lisa, Stacey, James, Kristi, Kally, Dean, Fritz, Marquita, Tasha, Wallace, Amy, Michael, Edward, Jennifer, Kelly, Kurt, and Kay, and 27 great-grandchildren, a sister, Carol Greene of Fond du Lac, two sisters-in-law, Virginia Westphal of Fond du Lac, and Betty Westphal of Milwaukee, a brother-in-law, Charles (Virginia) Westphal of Fond du Lac. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a grandson, Noel.



Visitation for Mrs. Eunice A. Westphal will be on Wednesday, September 30 ,2009, from 9:30 to 11:30 at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1600 S. Main Street, Fond du Lac. Funeral services will be at 11:30 am at the church on Wednesday. The Rev. Jon Cox will officiate and burial will follow in Ledgeview Memorial Park Cemetery. The family requests that memorials be directed to the St. Peters Evangelical Lutheran Church Radio Ministry. Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
