Eunice Elaine Tabbert, 86, went home to Heaven to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Tower View Villa in Rosendale, WI with her children at her side.Eunice was born on March 26, 1926 to the late Arthur and Lillie Emma Koeppen Schlorf Pfeiffer at their home in Rogersville, WI. Eunice attended Rogersville grade school and graduated in 1944 from the Rosendale Union Free High School. She joined the US Nurse Cadet Corps at St. Agnes School of Nursing and graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1947.Eunice worked as a Registered Nurse at St. Agnes hospital, a nurse matron at Taycheedah Correctional Institution, and as an industrial nurse at Speed Queen in Ripon. She completed her wonderful career as a medical surgical nurse from St. Agnes Hospital in 1989. She was a most dedicated, caring nurse as was evidenced by the many lives she touched. She was always referred to as the 'best nurse ever'.Eunice was gifted in many ways and will be remembered for her beautiful handwork, which included cross stitching, crocheting, knitting and hand sewn clothes. Eunice loved cooking, baking, canning and was famous for her casseroles, baked beans and desserts.Eunice was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in North Fond du Lac, St. Paul's Ladies Aid, Winnebago Circuit of L.W. M. S., St. Agnes Alumni Association, Life member of Eagle River VFW Ladies Auxiliary #8637. She loved to spend her vacations at their cabin on Long Lake near Eagle River.Eunice married Lyle Tabbert on June 12, 1948 at St. Peter's Lutheran church in Eldorado by the late Pastor W Wojahn. Their attendants were the late Carol Pfeiffer Perkins and the late Norman Tabbert. Lyle preceded her in death on September 28, 2006. They lived their entire married life on the family farm and were blessed with six children.Sharon (Cary) Eilertson, Kathleen (Rueben) Ruch, Nancy (Don Charneski) Rudey, William (Kay) Tabbert all of Eldorado; Gregory (fiancée Pam Giese) Tabbert of Oakfield, Beth (John) Hettwer of Fond du Lac. She has 12 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Colleen (Tony) Tasch and Olivia, Curtis (Jennifer) Eilertson and Elizabeth and Emma, Derek (Heidi) Eilertson and Eleanor, Heidi (Ryan) Kohlmetz andMegan, Macy and Jared, Heather (Lou) Vadala and Matt, Sophia, Isaac and Frank, Benjamin (Teresa) Ruch and Brady and Charlie, Ted (Stephanie) Ruch and Aiden and Landon, Adam (Paige) Tabbert and Ellie and Adam Junior, Nick (Jennifer) Tabbert and Colson and Cayleigh, Jessica (fiance Andy Schmitz) Tabbert, Calvin (Jo) Hettwer and Laura (fiancé Brian Werner) Hettwer. Eunice is further survived by a sister Donna (Roger) Jones and a brother-in- law Quentin Davies. Eunice was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lyle, son in law Robert Rudey, sister Carol Perkins, brother in laws Robert Perkins and Norman Tabbert, sisters in law Verona Tabbert and Delores Tabbert.



Visitation: Friends may call on Thursday March 21, 2013 from 4 to 8 PM at Uecker- Witt Funeral Home and from 9:30 to 11:30 AM at St Paul's Lutheran Church in North Fond du Lac on Friday March 22, 2013. The Christian Funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM at the church. Pastors Thomas Behnke and Michael Kampman will officiate. Burial will follow in Rosendale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials appreciated to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or Winnebago Lutheran Academy.Uecker-Witt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
