Eva C. Reimer

October 10, 1920 — July 17, 2011

Eva C. Reimer, 90, a resident of the Woodlands, died Sunday, July 17, 2011, at St. Francis Nursing Home. She was born October 10, 1920, in Breslau, Germany, the daughter of Conrad and Clara Pohl Stromenger. Born in East Germany, now part of Poland, she survived through the Russian occupation during WW II. After the war, she lived in England and moved to the United States in 1955 and became a US citizen. She married her former husband, Merle J. Reimer, in 1957 in Raleigh, NC, where he was stationed with the US Air Force. She lived in various countries all over the world. She moved to Wisconsin in the 1970's after her husband's retirement. Eva loved being around animals, especially her mini Pinscher, Andy. She was an active environmentalist as a member of Clean Wisconsin. Surviving is a daughter, Marlene (David) Baty of N. Augusta, SC, a grandson, Travis (Laurie) Buzzell of Chicago, IL, and one great-grandson, Koen Buzzell at home. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, Melody Reimer, a brother, Heinz C. Stromenger, who died in Switzerland, and her former husband, Merle.
