One of God's Earthly Angels, Evelyn (Evie) Willie, went to Heaven on Thursday, May 24, 2012, to become one of God's Heavenly Angles, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer for the past 8 months. Evelyn "Evie" Willie was born October 22, 1920, to Ervin and Lillian Kuhnz and was the first born followed by four very special brothers: Bill, Lyle, Robert and Dick Kuhnz. Evie married her soul mate, Robert (Bob) Willie, on December 19, 1942 and they shared 51 blissful years of marriage until Bob's death on January 4, 1994. God blessed them with a son, Terrence (Terry) Robert Willie, on December 27, 1945, who has been the pride and joy of Evie's life since his birth. Terry married his wife, Cheryl, May 26, 1973, and they further blessed Evie and Bob with three grandchildren, Missy Dean, Traci Bernard and Robby Willie. Her love for her grandchildren was so deep and they furnished her so much love and happiness. She was further blessed with 6 great-grandchildren: Brock Frazee, Makenzie and Garrett Dean; Grayson and Cameron Bernard; and Harper Willie Nine years ago, Evie accepted the invitation to come to Oklahoma City to live with Terry and his wife. She enjoyed many blessings and much joy with her family and though she missed her family and friends in Fond du Lac, she knew she was where she needed to be. Evie was the family matriarch who exhibited deep faith, love, compassion, kindness and goodness to her family. Everyone who was blessed to know Evie loved her. Outside of her immediate family, she was loved and adored by many nephews, nieces and their children as well as many great friends in both Fond du Lac and Oklahoma City. She never said a bad thing about anyone and she always looked for something good in everyone. She will be remembered as the beautiful lady who walked with the Lord daily and had a true love and appreciation for life. Evie had a real passion for jewelry and possessed a large collection. Every morning she coordinated her attire for the day and complimented what she wore with several pieces of her jewelry. Her passion became an art through her designing and beading of Christmas ornaments which she shared with her family and friends. Evie served the Lord and her community through her service at Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran Church where she was an active member for more than 50 years before moving to Oklahoma. For many years, she provided handmade corsages each month to all of the residents at the Lutheran Home who was celebrating a birthday. She never tired of helping others.Evie is preceded in death by her husband, Bob; her mother and father, Ervin and Lillian Kuhnz; her brothers, Bill Kuhnz and Lyle Kuhnz; sister-in-laws Betty Kuhnz and Sylvia Kuhnz. She is survived by her son, Terry and his wife, Cheryl; grandson, Robby Willie and his wife, Jami and great granddaughter, Harper; granddaughter, Traci Bernard and her husband, Robert and great grandsons, Grayson and Cameron; and Missy Dean and great grandchildren, Brock, Makenzie and Garrett.
